So much for the interlude. Let's check out a few more sights and sounds of the Waterfall Festival, shall we?

This was a resident duo that sort of mixes its live music with prerecorded stuff. They were okay, I guess.

The reason as to why some of the pictures didn't come out to well was that 1) I had to stay behind the police tape and 2) disposable camera. As much as I try to take relatively good pics, disposables do have a glaring disadvantage to them, and if you know anything about photography, you can probably figure out what that is, especially if you look at this picture, which is a mad pumpkin and a mad flower wrapped in a straitjacket.

This one is a mountain/valley/river scene. By this time there were some areas that weren't roped off, simply because the drawing part of the contest was starting to wind down (hence some of the people milling around the artwork).

Newington does have a few working farms, and a very small local farmer's market on Thursdays and Saturdays during the summer. This is just a sample of what some of the farms produce. Connecticut is very much into the local food suppliers and a lot of the quality (i.e. non-chain) restaurants in the state use a varied abundance of local meats, produce and dairy in their menus.

For the most part while I was there, it was pretty tough to get really good shots of the artwork. Because of the large influx of people, the area where the artists work is roped off until they complete their respective pieces. This particular piece is a classic car with a classic 50's style diner in the background.

This hook and ladder/fire hose also made an appearance at the Extravaganza. If you remember from the last series of posts, this firetruck was the most popular attraction of the day. This was taken at the upper end of Market Square near Main Street. However, I was a little disappointed with this shot. So.....

....I backed up until I was literally standing on Main Street, then turned my camera sideways and got the entire thing in my lens. That has to be what, about four or five stories high?

And yes, once again, my favorite photo scene: Keeny Manufacturing. Honestly, I can never get my fill of taking exterior shots of this building. They really do a fantastic job of landscaping and showcasing that landscaping during the summer. And in case you're wondering, they do take down that water fountain and store it for the winter.

Welcome my friend, so glad you could join me on this current journey through another section of my wonderful hometown of Newington, CT.

Here are two more examples of work done by the junior artists. As you can see it was a pretty fantastic Indian summer kind of day to hold the festival. The picture in the forefront is of a frog resting on a couple of lily pads. The picture in the back looks like to be a rocket ship in a corn field (at least that's the best I can make of it).

This is typical of the kind of crowds and vendors that you'll see at the festival. The trees are already starting to be painted from Mother Nature's palette of colors, and yes, quite a few of the shops and restaurants were open during the festival as well. And now, without further ado, I present to you, the main attraction of this  post. I will forgo captioning for the rest of this post and simply let you enjoy the artwork on its own merit.
