Hiking On Cedar Mountain 2

Continuing on a theme, here is part 2 of my leisure weekend hike up Cedar Mountain.

On this part of the hike I decided to explore a bit of the ridge. Photo's 2 and 3 were taken from a rocky outcrop that gave me the willies while I was hiking up (diagonally) and while I was hiking down (also diagonally, which was very dangerous). In the remaining pics, you can see worn out paths that although were great for walking on, did provide a few places along the way for me to sit and proverbially smell the flowers, or in the case, the trees and the birds. You can also that autumn is indeed taking place on Cedar Mountain.

And while the grade was roughly 7% or more in some places, the downward trek on those paths made it feel like I was walking down a slightly steep hill. So overall to this point, the hike was going very well.

  1. You must be a great deal fitter than me, I'd be breathless climbing the mountain for sure. When we are in AZ our next door neighbour aways encourages me to go hiking, but I don't fancy having a heart attack whilst on holiday.

  2. Joe: I won't say fitter as I'm relatively plump for my age and height, but I try to exercise whenever I can.

But I can understand not wanting to having a heart attack while hiking. Certainly would put a damper on your holiday, eh?

  3. Lovely. I haven't been on a good hike in a while. Lana's back has been bothering her.

  4. It's lovely to hike through rustling leaves, isn't it?

  5. Charles: Thanks. I'm hoping to get back up there next weekend to finish my hike.

Lynn: Absolutely. I shot a two minute video of just the sounds of the mountain, but unfortunately, it did not stick to the disk and thus didn't load to the computer.

  6. Alex: It is. I live in the shadow of it, so it's always there should I ever need to take a mental break.

  7. Nice looking area there. Similar to a trail I have around my new abode. Of course, there's a lot of ticks and that may slow me down from too much nature prowling.

  8. David: Thanks. I don't have problems with ticks as I do with just bugs (i.e. gnats and mosquitos) in general.
